Hello, there! This is Arif, writing. 'Arif' means 'wise' in Bahasa Indonesia. But, the funny thing is I cannot track my wisdom anywhere inside me, except in rehearsals. Well, I am the musical director of the club, so I really have to keep my wisdom where I put it, so we can have a well endowed and fun rehearsal, which is also not boring. I love to sing so much, I think it's one thing that kept me alive. I also like to write songs very much, where that's probably why I love Barry manilow's 'I Write The Songs' so much. I hear a little bit of me in the song. I also have an uncontrolled desire for moviemaking. I always want to know how a movie is made and stuffs. I've got my influence in music from Whitney Houston, Harvey Malaiholo (an Indonesian singer), Manhattan Transfer, and Take 6. These 4 elements mold me into the singer I am today. As for a cappella, it is a total obsession of mine, where I say Neri Per Caso is the best in the business right now. And, O yeah...I would like to say 'hi' to the Brown Derbies, because I just love their 'Break My Stride'! Last, I would like to thank the 2 institutions who has brought me up to a person I am today. To Fasilkom (as the most exciting place I've ever been in) and ASCIIpella (as the most exciting guys I've ever had the honor of singing with). Thanx! |
